Mangaluru, Sep 27: Classes for graduate and postgraduate course of Mangalore University are likely to start from the first week of November.

"According to the direction given by UGC, we are preparing to start the classes from November 1," said Prof P S Edapadithaya, chancellor of the University.

Prof Edapadithaya further said, "Degree and postgraduate examinations are in progress and will be completed by the end of September. Results are likely to be announced before October 20. We have planned to start the classes of postgraduate courses from November 1st itself."

"The admission process will be done both online and offline for this academic year. However, we will check the situation of Covid-19 of the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu, which fall under our university and then take permission from the government," he added.

"The University is all set to do digitalized and de-centralized valuation of answer papers. We will get the evaluation done as per the guidelines from the state government due to Covid-19 pandemic," Prof Edapadithaya said.

Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had tweeted that the first semester classes of degree should begin from November 1.
