Karkala: Man arrested after evading arrest for 36 years

Karkala, Jul 28: A 60-year-old warrant accused who had been absconding for nearly 36 years was arrested by Karkala Town police on July 27 near Ramasamudra in Karkala taluk.

The arrested accused has been identified as Peter Augustine Martis (60), a resident of Ramasamudra, Karkala.

He was apprehended by a team led by the Karkala Town police sub-inspector and police personnel.

The accused was produced before the principal civil judge and JMFC court in Karkala, which remanded him to judicial custody.
