Udupi: Woman taken into custody at Kuwait airport reaches home

Udupi, Sep 24: Girija from the district, who faced unexpected problems when returning from Kuwait after she was taken into custody at Kuwait airport, reached Bengaluru by Kuwait Airways flight on Wednesday September 23.

Girija had arrived at Kuwait airport on September 12. As her employer there had complained to the authorities that she had gone missing, Girija was stopped at the airport and taken into custody.

Her boarding was cancelled at the last minute.

Many helped Girija's return journey. Kenjoor Shashidhar Shetty from Bahrain, Kuwait Tulukoota former president, Wilson D'Souza, Kuwait Buntara Sangha former president, Dr Shekhar Shetty, Kuwait Muslim Association Karnataka unit representative, Abdul Latif from Bantwal, newly appointed ambassador at Kuwait, Shibi George, NRI Forum former vice president, Dr Arathi Krishna etc intervened and helped the lady to return home, said Kasargod Mohandas Kamath, an entrepreneur from Kuwait.

    Thank God that Girija who was taken into custody at Kuwait airport reaches her home after going through all the ordeal after working for 28 long years. My hats off to all those helped in this mission. I know it was a tough job but you all made it.
