Karkala: NMAMIT launches cost-effective ‘AUTOFLUSH’

Karkala, Jul 1: The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, NITTE, introduced a unique cost-effective ‘AUTOFLUSH’, designed and developed by a team of faculty- Anil Kumar Bhat, Bommegowda K B, Dr Subramanya Bhat and Dr Shivaprakasha K S.

This is a system developed using IR sensors. Instead of manually flushing water in the toilet, the person can hold his hand in front of the sensor which generates a pulse to trigger a solenoid valve. This will enable automatic flushing of water for the desired interval. The product was launched by Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal, NMAMIT, NITTE on June 29.

Dr Rekha Bhandarkar, Professor and Head, department of E & CE welcomed the gathering. Vice principals, registrar, deans and heads of all the departments were present.
