Flight operations resume at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar, May 25 (IANS): Domestic flights resumed after two months at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, here on Monday.

While one Vistara flight from Delhi landed, another four were expected by the evening, said airport director V.V. Rao. These are Air India flight from Delhi, Air Asia from Bangalore, Indigo from Bangalore and Delhi.

However, five flights from Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar were cancelled due to problems at the departure points.

According to sources, Bhubaneswar-Kolkata-Bhubaneswar flights were delayed due to devastation caused by cyclone Amphan in West Bengal. These flights are expected to resume after May 28.

Flights also resumed from Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda. Two flights of SpiceJet flew from the airport to Delhi and Hyderabad.
