Mangaluru, May 3: The double murder of Vincent (50) and his wife Helen (45) has left the residents of Yelinje in shock. The couple was brutally killed by a neighbour in broad daylight on April 29 at Yelinje village near Damaskatte in Kinnigoli near here.
The residents know the couple to have been kind and helpful to the needy and maintained friendly relationship with the people around. The entire village is mourning the untimely death of the couple. But what adds to the pain is that the murder has left their children, a daughter and a son, orphaned at a tender age.
Jennifer Queeni D’Souza, the elder daughter of the couple, had just completed her tenth while their son Joshua Dion D’Souza is studying in fourth standard at Lakshmi Janardhana International School, Belman. The unfortunate incident has rendered the children totally helpless. Just like any responsible parents, the couple had big dreams for their children who are doing excellent academically. Their sudden deaths did not give the couple an opportunity to secure their children's future.
Taking note of the current situation and helplessness of Queeni and Joshua, a few close aides of their family have come forward to mobilise education fund for their further studies. Also, a few kind-hearted people have voluntarily expressed to help the children in their other needs. The children hope to continue their studies and achieve their dreams, and have faith in generous donors to stand by them in these difficult times.
Close relatives and well-wishers of the family have requested people to contribute to fund the education of Queeni and Joshua.
