Kuwait: Outdoor activities suspended in city

Kuwait, Apr 18: The city has suspended all outdoor activities within its residential areas, particularly from 5 pm to 6 am, as a means to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the country, the state news agency KUNA reported, on Friday.

This law shall also be applied to regional waters, farms and chalets, the ministry informed. Anyone who violates it will be prosecuted, they added.

The total tally of COVID-19 cases in Kuwait is currently 1,658, with around 134 people having tested positive in the past 24 hours, the health ministry announced. Two people have died, raising the total death toll of the country to five. Abdullah Al-Sanad, the health ministry spokesman informed that while 32 of the affected are currently in the Intensive Care Unit, 33 have recovered, making the total number of recoveries 258.
