Mangaluru, Mar 1: It was an evening of fun and frolic as Mangalureans celebrated Holi, the festival of colours with a gala event organized by Stone Bridge Entertainment at City Beech, Bolar here on Sunday March 1.

Spirits soared high as people enjoyed the colourful bash and the lip-smacking food and a bar that was well-stocked. The event hosted a variety of entertainment to cater to the tastes of the Holi revellers.

The Holi fest this year brought in four DJs instead of one to take the thrill of the event to a whole new level.

A troupe of ‘Dhol’ (traditional percussionists) was also arranged to reverberate the spirit of Holi in a traditional manner.

Though the rains are not in sight and the next showers likely to happen much after Holi, the event on the City Beach had a rain dance zone, where partakers rejoiced in artificial rain.

The organisers stocked only organic colours for the event, so that people could be carefree. The revellers had a fun time smearing each other with colours. People of all ages, including little children had the time of their lives dancing and playing with colours. The event also had special discounts for people who booked a Benelli bike at the Holi dance festival.

Avalon Patrao and Aravind Shenoy of Paradise Properties are the main sponsors of the event. Hera pinto hosted the event.

Stone Bridge Entertainment is one of the most popular event organising companies in Mangaluru, known for their knack for curating best events with unmatchable quality.

Many of the people who are commenting here are saying that on Holi in North India people just wear kurta Pyjama. This is absolute bullshit.

In North, including Delhi, during HOLI, people drink bhang and involve in lots of ched chad, including molestation, as they cannot be recognized in the crowd because of the colour on their faces and body.

Just writing for the sake of writing is not correct. I have witnessed this first hand when I was in north for nearly seven years.

    Dear Shankar, Mangaluru,
That's what makes it holey. DJ has just spiced it up. Else for many years, generations together were stuck with the song in which Amithab desperately wanted to wet Rekha.

What a sad state we have reached. This isn't way holi is played. Dj, alchohal and what not, really sad state.

Just killing our own beautiful culture and innocence of celebrating such a beautiful festival. I wonder why all the right wing organizations have no say now who keep jumping up and down for Valentine's day.

This is not but the organizers making money out of such events that's all. And we have plenty more events happening in the name of holi the same way all over Mangalore. What have we really come to?

When people celebrate valentines day bajarang dal has a problem. Now people celebrate and dance wearing western clothes and they do not have any problem.
They know only to attack the innocents not the high class people.

I thought, "HOLI" was holy festival but the above pictures shows "Unholy events". I think the culture protector "SENE, DALA, VEDIKE" are might be busy somewhere else or may be got the routine "HAFTA" from organizer...

just kidding and wish always no one disturb anyone. Anyway we have to move according to present generation "KALAKKE TAKKA KOLA", anyway it's digital generation. Really missed our childhood holi festival where family and friends gather and dancing to local tunes while spraying color waters.
    GOD BLESS ALL OF US.
