Mangaluru: 'Not in touch with Adithya since two years', says brother Akshath Rao

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jan 22: "It is true that Aditya Rao, who is accused in the attempt to bomb Mangaluru International Airport, is my brother. However, last time itself when he made a hoax bomb call, we have kept him out of our family. My father has warned him not to come home. When he was young, he was good. Of late, he is doing these kind of acts," said Akshath Rao, brother of Aditya Rao, accused, who has surrendered to the police at Bengaluru.

Responding to the press at their residence at Chilimbi in the city, Akshath Rao said, "We have asked him to mend his ways. But when he did not listen to our advice, we have kept him out of the family. We do not have any contact with him now. We are living our life. We cannot be held responsible for what he does. We are not in touch with him for the past two years. We have just left him to his self. We are only two children. We are basically from Manipal, but are living in Mangaluru since six months.

"During his childhood Aditya was like any other child. Then I joined hostel in eighth standard and he also joined the hostel. From that time there was hardly any time when we were together. We used to meet only during family functions. Aditya has done BE and MBA. Of late, he is doing these kind of acts. Our father also tried to correct him. But Aditya did not listen. So we have left him.

"We spoke to Aditya last time in February 2019 when our mother died. He was at Chikkaballapur prison at that time. As he was the eldest son, we called him as we felt that it is our duty. We requested the jail authorities to allow him to attend the last rites. But he did not come. So I only, being the younger brother, had to carry out the last rituals during my mother's cremation. We are not interested to know about his acts. We have never supported him in this matter. We have fully cooperated in the investigation of the police. We have also not done any sort of help to Aditya to secure bail. We will not do also. Even we are scared of him. So we have requested the police to give us protection,” he said.

When queried that Aditya was working in the city since the past six months, Akshath Rao said, "We do not know his whereabouts. We came to know that he is working in Mangaluru only through media."

Adithya, is mentally disturbed.. normal humans, will never commit such criminal acts. unless brainwashed or radicalized. He is a engineer with an MBA working in low paid jobs, speaks volumes, about his mental status.... He certainly will spend a life time in confinement...

He looks like a frustrtated man. CHanged many jobs because he was not able to cope with any job. I feel he lost his track somewhere on the way A misguided youth. May be hes is isolated from family. He needs to be counselssed and treated first. He will probably spent rest of his life in jail for the crime he has committed. Hope he understands his mistkes and get reformed. I heard its a powerful bomb and it was hard to defuse the bomb so police have to burst it. I also feel the security forces have done a very good job to defuse the bomb So many lives have been saved. Otherwise many woudl have lost their life in sucha pwoerful bomb.

Even if Aditya comes out from jail after some time, he will prefer to go back to jail life because he is isolated man,,his own family disconnected his connection when he was arrested first time..He needs psychiatric treatment first..Very sorry to know that fluent English speaking person, B.E. with MBA degree holder worked in Multi National Bank, Insurance co and resigned to the post for a very silly resign and worked as security guard, cook Billing clerk..cashier..etc..etc..It seems he will spend rest of his life in Jail...

When suspects photo published on Papers, his brother must have identified him. Then why didnt he gave information to police. If the same person was a muslim, then what was the reaction of people always think that muslims only can do all these crimes. This case is eye opener to majority community.

The family should be left alone and shouldn't be hounded. They are innocent. But looking at the terrorists history, he is not dumb. He is very intelligent. All his moves are well calculated. I am surprised at the move of many media houses to prove him as mentally imbalanced rather than accepting that he is a terrorist. But branding him a psycho is the only way for few political parties.

I completely agree with you about reservations. But education must be made free and bottom to top and reservation thrown lit of the window. Jobs onky on merit. But only afyer education bexomes completely free. But again joblessness is not a reason to terrorize the nation. Moreover this guy had jobs but left them for silly reasons.

All cock and bull stories are coming out and being spread by the Godi media as balatkari party is in power.

If the accused was from minority community by this time he would have been linked to ISIS, Al Qaida etc. No mention of his mental status and family would have been highlighted.

This clearly shows why police firing happened in Mangaluru. If the majority community would be protesting, the police would not have opened the fire at all.

It's such a sad story in Aditya's life.
He is rejected by his fly because of wrongful way of life, being an engineer and a post graduate not successful in securing right employment. No doubts he is tormented Soul.
He is in need of counselling and right advise by holy priest to mend his ways and came back to meaningful life. I feel so pity for him. He is going through some bad pace in life. (Shani)
May God help to emerge from the dark side of life and be able to lead life on a brighter life.
I believe in the power of prayers and we all the well wishers offer prayers to God.

Police should not herrass his elderly father and brother
I just couldn't imagine such an educated person doing like this
All this happens because the child didn't get proper love from parents
Always parents should not keep their kids in hostels
For example we are 8 children to our parents and they taught us right from childhood working in the fields before going to school
That's why we know today money could be earned not easy way

It all depends on the upbringing. Parents gave good education but no love. Kids grew most of the time in the hostel, which means no personal time. Now a days parents have no time for their kids. This will be the result.

Never support him for what he has done, could have changed him if he had got enough love and affection from his parents during his childhood.

Felt Sorry, for the news anchors who shouted in the loudest voice calling Mangalore becoming hotbed of terrorism !!!

    Real problems,
Prospering minorities and financial and morally poor others !! Sorry again but that's the truth.
Blacksheeps are there in every religion we need to beware of such people.

At this juncture, his own people are disowning him. How will that make him feel.

Now at this crucial time of all it is the moral responsibility of the family to take him within their fold and be nice to him and counsel him.

Make him realise what he did is wrong but do not abandon him when he needs the family most. But here's a family that is disowning him.

    Pathetic.

Now what the government will act and punish him for his dreadful acts, yet to be known.
Let's hope he would realize his weaknesses and short falls in life and make a resolution to
came back to the civilized society. I even feel pity for whatever harsh moments he is going through.
