Mangaluru, Jan 22: It is learnt that Adithya Rao, who has been accused of planting a bomb at the international airport here on Sunday, used to work for Kudla Quality Hotel in the city. He was residing in Chilimbi here.
Adithya was doing billing work in the bar and restaurant department of Quality Hotel since the last two months. It is also learnt that he always remained aloof, and did not show interest in striking conversation with others.
There is also information that he always brought a bag with him when reporting for duty, and always kept that bag near his legs throughout the day. As he happens to be a vegetarian, he went down to have lunch at the vegetarian hotel.

As per information, Adithya has surrendered to Bengaluru police, even as the city police were busy conducting search operations at various places like Mysuru, Shivamogga, Hasaan and Udupi in addition to the city. It is said that he travelled to Bengaluru at night by lorry.
Adithya is a native of Udupi. He was arrested after making hoax calls in 2018 to set out explosions at Kempegowda airport and majestic Sangolli Rayanna railway station. His parents had shifted residence and begun to reside in the city.
Adithya's father, Krishnamurthy, lives in Canara Bank apartments at Chilimbi near Ladyhill in the city. As Adithya's younger brother is employed in Canara Bank, the bank has allotted residential quarters to the family at the above location.
Adithya's father was at home, but he refused to speak to the media or say anything about the case.
