Mangaluru, Jan 22: The second edition of 'Bondel Fiesta', a celebrative and entertainment will be held on January 25 and 26 at Bondel Church grounds, informed parish priest St Lawrence Church Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, January 22, Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza said, "The guests of honour for the two-day ‘Bondel Fiesta’ will be manager of Codialbail Press Fr Ronald D’Souza, chairman of Christian Development Board of Karnataka Joylus D’Souza, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath and corporator of Pacchanady ward Sangeetha R Nayak.”
Principal St Lawrence English Medium School, Fr Clifford Pinto said, "The two-day fiesta will be a spectacular event comprising of high quality entertainment accompanied by sumptuous and homely food stalls. This event is being held for the aid of various development projects of the shrine. The fiesta will start on Saturday, January 25 at 3 pm and will wind up at 10 pm. On Sunday, January 26, it will start at 8 am and will continue up to 10 pm.
"Both veg and non-veg delicacies will be served to tickle the taste buds of connoisseurs. Entertainment and fun games will be held every minute to keep up the spirits of the participants. Lucky draw housie both traditional and creative, team games, live singing, musical evening etc will make Bondel fiesta a place to be during the two days.
"Like last year, the event is expected to run full house. People are requested to confirm their participation in advance by purchasing entry passes. The event has all the ingredients to become one of the best and memorable. To keep the audience enthralled, the fiesta will have exciting spot prizes and lucky draws.
“Mega competitions like ‘Star Chef of Fiesta’ and 'Talented Siblings’ are also part of the event. Nonstop music from well-known DJ Acvin will be an added attraction. As a part of social media reach, we have initiated a competition called Star of Fiesta, where individual pictures are posted in the Bondel fiesta frame and shared among the social media groups. The picture with highest likes will be declared as star of fiesta and will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 5,555.
“On January 26, bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha will release the CD ‘Mogachi Lahran’ composed by Vincent Fernandes Cascia,” he said.
Vice president Pastrol parish council Reginald D’Souza, secretary Steevan Noronha and coordinator cultural and entertainment committee Manoj Lewis were present.
