Udupi: District Sri Rama Sene appeals DC to suspend Chikkamagaluru tahsildar

Udupi, Oct 18: An appeal to Yediyurappa, CM of the state, urging the suspension of Chikkamagaluru tahsildar for prohibiting the procession of stone idol of Dattatreya during the 13th yearly Dattamala Shobhayatra, and also non-response by the local MLA C T Ravi was submitted through G Jagadeesh, DC of the district by Sri Rama Sene under the leadership of their district president Jayaram Ambekallu on Thursday, October 17.

The following three important demands were placed in the appeal that was submitted to the DC:

* Chikkamagaluru Tahsildar who has done dereliction of duty, violating the law, due to some pressure, should be suspended immediately
*Permission should be given to take out the procession in the coming days with the stone idol of Dattatreya that is donated by the Datta Bhaktas of Karwar
*Datta Peeta should be handed over to the Hindus soon

Prominent leaders of Sri Rama Sene Dinesh Pangala, Sharath Poojary, Nagarjun Gundibailu, Harish Poojary, Mahesh Prabhu, Gajendra Prasad, taluk president of Durga Sene Shashikala G Prasad, Saraswati Bhat, Mookambika Acharya and Geeta Ramesh were present.
