Congress insulted, deprived Ambedkar of Bharat Ratna: Modi

Akola (Maharashtra), Oct 16 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday slammed the Congress for "insulting" the architect of the Constitution, Dr B.R. Ambedkar and "depriving" him of Bharat Ratna, the country's highest honour till 1990.

"Ambedkar had drafted the Constitution....but the Congress kept him 'vanchit' (deprived) of the Bharat Ratna...Congress also insulted Veer Savarkar," Modi said while addressing an election rally here.

Ambedkar, who died in 1956, was conferred with the Bharat Ratna in 1990 by the then V.P. Singh's government.

 

Modi said it was the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has implemented Ambedkar's Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir after scrapping Articles 370 and 35A, "but they continue to oppose it".

"Our endeavour is 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and in the past five years, we have taken great strides in this... I urge you all to vote for the BJP and bring us back with an even higher majority," Modi urged the gathering.

He called upon the people "to teach a lesson" to all those who oppose the abrogation of Article 370 and help the BJP to take the people of Maharashtra to greater heights through progress and development.

    He has nothing to say about his achievements , economy failure and corruption and using ED, CBI and IT departments to harass his opponents. He only wins because of communal atmosphere he and his friend have created in my beloved country.

    He talks still about the past mistakes as he says,but not what can be done at present .Atleast does he know what this paragraph is of this 370 and 35a etc.who needs this First he should explain,Farmers are not interested in paragraphs but their loan and how to pay back explain it to them.All the time congress made this and that .Never whay citizens need and can be done for them.schools are in miserable stage.Education of poor is still at large.Talk about this.Not about past.all are fed up with this talk.Health problems ,flood effected people have not got their money.what about this?

    LOL Look whose talking.. What is your achievement apart from speaking to world leaders in their language and posing in beaches ? Even a school going kid has realized now that you are good for nothing. All you can do is memorise some phrases from different languages .Even bhakts are now getting irritated from your jumlebaazi. They are not accepting it is a different story altogether...

    BJP should sincerely recommend Bharat Ratna to Nathuram Godse.
    BTW, article 370 was invoked in the constitution when Dr Ambedkar was still alive and in his presence but you have undermined his effort and humiliated him by abrogating the same article.

    Dr Ambekar is of the stature of Nehru and Mahatma. He is a world leader. Does he require a Bharat Ratna? Do not put him in a small box.

    Dear Modiji, now you are in Govt. Award Bharat Ratna to each and every one from BJP including you. No issue in that, But talk about Lokpal, farmers issues, Unemployment, PMC bank etc. Day and night politics in each and everything but not talks on real issues. Pity on you Modiji after having huge mandate you are still blaming and not focus on good governance
