Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 19: In an incident which happened within the limits of Rajajinagar police station here on the night of Saturday August 17, a businessman was found torched to death. The police suspect that the daughter of the businessman would have set her father on fire, angered by the fact that he obstructed her from consuming drugs.

The deceased was Jayakumar (43), a businessman from Rajajinagar. In this incident, his daughter, Unnathi (15), too suffered burn injuries and stands admitted into a private hospital, the police stated.

Jayakumar, resident of fifth block near Bashyam Circle, owned a textile store. His wife had left for Puducherry for attending some family function. Jayakumar and his daughter, Unnathi, were the only ones present at home when the death of Jayakumar happened.   It is said that Jayakumar, who saw his daughter consuming drugs, chided her. Angered at her father who stopped her from consuming drugs, Unnathi would have set her father on fire, it is thought. Deputy commissioner of police (city south), N Shashikumar, forensic laboratory officials, and Rajajinagar police visited the area and inspected the crime scene.

Shashikumar told the journalists that the charred body of Jayakumar was found inside the bathroom of his house at Rajajinagar. It was seen that blood had spilled in a bedroom attached to the bathroom. He also said that the police have noted down some other things which have strengthened their doubt. He said that the police will take Unnathi into custody and question her in order to crack the case once her health condition stablizes.

She was into drugs according to reports...listening to a boy friend who befriended her only a few years ago. Planning the most heinous crime they both could imagine and act is not acceptable at any level. She has acted on her revenge mentality for curbing her freedom and for physically assaulting her. She has acted devilishly to her loving father; who has reacted normally as any parent would do. Unnathi & Praveen should learn a very hard lesson & repent in their respective prisons. It will be very difficult to forgive themselves & accept the reality. They will be feeling guilty all their lives. 2 young lives' bright future is spoiled by a moment of anger. Never let anger to control you, with God's help always subdue your anger which is the root cause of all evil in this world. May God comfort Unnathi's mother & brother....Children, please learn to respect your parents when they discipline you which may look bitter at that moment but later you will not regret the benefit of having listened to your parents' advice during your academic years. May God have mercy on the accused...

It is shocking that a 15-year-old idiot daughter killed her own businessman father to death. Her father was doing the right thing by not allowing her to take drugs. Maybe she was high on drugs when she committed this crime. She should get a maximum punishment and not treated as a minor. May the soul of Jayakumar RIP and condolences to his wife and family members.

So far young men were doing such acts under the influence of drugs/alcohol. Now it is the turn of girls. Whatever it is this daughter should not have done such a act. its the duty of the parents to advise their children to stay away from drugs. Bad days are ahead.
