Udupi, Jul 20: A seminar on traffic rules and road safety was organized at Nirmala English Medium School Brahmavar, which was conducted by police sub-inspector (Brahmavar) Raghavendra C. Students were informed about the classification of roads. About traffic signals (green, yellow, and red) some information was given of what each signal represents. He also added that every circle or junctions are provided with traffic signal, since traffic police cannot be present at all places and this signals are to be considered as traffic police and should be followed strictly.

Students were informed about the documents such as license, insurance, Registration Certificate, Emission tests and some rules for safety seat belt, hamlet, No using mobile during driving , if the traffic rules are violated then the penalty should be paid. More information about various sign boards (cautionary, informatory and mandatory) was given. Vehicles should always drive on left side in India and pedestrian should walk on right side of the road. Zebra crossing is meant for pedestrians to help in crossing. Every vehicle must have first aid kit.

The seminar proved to be very informative and beneficial for students as they were informed about traffic rules and road safety. Police inspector requested all to follow the rules and inform the parents to follow the traffic ruls. With this the seminar was concluded with vote of thanks by principal Fr Joslie Francis D’Silva.
