Mangaluru, Jul 18: Grade II students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, were buzzing with curiosity as they explored concepts through games, hands-on activities, and interactive learning experiences. Everyday lessons were transformed into memorable adventures across every subject.
In English, the children learnt about collective nouns using puzzles, a spinning wheel game, real objects, and examples they created on their own, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

In Hindi, the young learners practiced the use of Chandrabindu and formed words using the letter 'La', helping improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, and language skills.
In Kannada, the activities like ‘Banni Pada Kattona’ encouraged the learners to build words using letter cards and read them aloud, while ‘Chitra huduki akshara jodisi' enabled them to match pictures with letters, helping them expand their vocabulary and enhance their reading skills.
In Mathematics, the class enthusiastically participated in engaging activities on ascending order, descending order, expanded form, and standard form. Through colorful templates and a floor activity using number cards, the children strengthened their understanding of place value, number concepts, and sequencing skills.
In science, the learners identified the internal organs of the human body by placing cut-outs of the brain, lungs, heart, stomach, liver, and intestines in their correct positions on a human body chart. The interactive activity reinforced their understanding of the location and function of each organ.
These engaging activities enhanced the learners' language and numeracy skills, boosted their confidence, fostered teamwork, and made learning fun filled and joyful. Learning felt more like play with a purpose.
