Sullia: Woman slips, drowns in river near Subrahmanya

Sullia, Apr 24: A woman accidentally slipped and drowned in the river at Devaragadde Agalikaje near Subrahmanya on Tuesday April 23.

The victim of this accident was Radha (35), wife of Kumar from Guthigar. Kumar and Radha, along with their three children, had come to the home of Radha's parents at Devaragadde, Subrahmanya, four days back.

On Tuesday afternoon, Radha and Kumar found that some coconuts and areca nuts which had fallen from the trees, were floating in river water near their house. They went near the river to pick the nuts. Radha, who went ahead inside the river seeking too collect more nuts, suddenly slipped and fell into a huge pit inside the river that is not visible from outside. She breathed her last there.

Subrahmanya police visited the place,conducted spot inspection, made inquiries,and registered a case of unnatural death.
