Riyadh, Mar 14 (Arab News): The Shoura Council, in a session chaired by its Deputy Speaker Abdullah bin Salim Al-Mutani, called on the Ministry of Economy and Planning to ensure that development programs approved for various regions are consistent with their priorities and needs.

The council also called on the ministry to revise human resources policies so as to support Saudization and manage recruitment based on actual needs.

The council asked the ministry to provide more details on the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Plan under Vision 2030, by highlighting the most significant challenges and barriers, and ways to address them.

The council asked the Saudi Wildlife Authority to conduct comprehensive studies on the biodiversity of marine life in the Red Sea, with the aim of preserving it.

Shoura members also urged the authority to protect people from dangerous wild animals in some areas.

The council approved a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Saudi General Sports Authority and the New Zealand Sports Authority to cooperate in the promotion of physical activity and participation in sports.
