Bengaluru: Kannada television actress complains against director of cheating

Bengaluru, Jul 23: Manjula, a senior actress of Kannada tele serials has filed a complaint with C K Acchukattu police against Naveen Rai, director of teleserials, of taking gold worth Rs seven lac and cash of Rs one lac from her on the pretext of producing a movie and cheated without returning the borrowed valuables and cash.

In her complaint, Manjula has accused that "I got acquainted with Naveen during the course of acting in television soaps. He had directed two teleserials. Around six months ago he told me that he is producing a new movie and will give me a better margin in the profit if I invest the money and took 200 gms of gold from me. After a few days, he again took the gold of my daughter and Rs one lac in cash. Now he is not returning the same. Moreover, he has vacated the house where he used to reside."

Manjula, who is a resident of Katriguppe is saying that she is a television soap actress and she resides alone as her daughter lives abroad. Naveen Rai is known to her since many years and used to help her and visit her house often. Now she is accusing him of not returning her gold and money that were taken by him.

Police are investigating further on this issue.
