Puttur: Police arrest interstate drug peddler in Uppinangadi

Puttur, Jul 18: Uppinangadi police arrested the main accused of a gang of interstate drug peddlers thereby solving the case where a huge quantity of ganja was confiscated at Addahole, Shiradi in December 2017.

The arrested accused is Moidin Nawaz Alias Nawaz (32), resident of Uppala, Kasargod.

As much as 81 kg ganja was seized by police last December which is said to be one of the largest quantity of ganja seized in the district.

The accused was nabbed by Uppinangadi station sub inspector Nandakumar, staff Shivarama, Dharnappa, Abdul Saleem, Pravin Rai, Irshad P, Jagadish and drivers Raju Poojary Bannur and Narayana Gowda Darbe, under directions from Puttur rural police circle inspector Gopal Naika M and guidance from SP Dr Ravikante Gowda, additional SP Sajith Kumar and Puttur sub division DySP Srinivas.
