Udupi, Jun 25: Two people suffered injuries when a tanker rammed into an Eicher lorry that had stopped on national highway due to break down in Pangala here on June 23. Tanker driver Bantwal resident Nagesh was suffered serious injuries while cleaner Krishnappa escaped with minor injuries in the accident.

The Eicher lorry on its way to Mangaluru had stopped due to break down while the tanker which had come in the same direction hit the Eicher lorry in the rear.



The Eicher lorry toppled on the divider in the middle of the highway due to the impact. The front portion of the tanker was stuck inside the Eicher lorry causing the tanker driver struggle in between the two vehicles. Police and local people struggled for about an hour to pull the driver out.

Traffic was disrupted on the highway due to the accident. Police made way for one way traffic. Vehicle plied only on one side of the highway for about two hours.
