Mangaluru: MRPL to host 38th inter-unit PSPB bridge tourney from Mar 21 to 24

Mangaluru, Mar 22: MRPL is hosting the 38th Inter Unit PSPB Bridge Tournament at its premises at Mangaluru from March 21 to 24. The tournament was inaugurated on Wednesday, March 21 at MRPL Employees Club by M Venkatesh, director (Refinery), MRPL.

Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) was set up as a registered society with the objective to encourage, develop, supervise, coordinate and organize various sports and games. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is the Patron of the PSPB. There are 12 member organization of PSPB from Oil and Gas and related sectors. MRPL has got the opportunity to host Bridge Tournament for the year 2017-18. Teams from ONGC, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Oil India, NRL and MRPL are the participants fielding their team in the bridge tournament.

ONGC, IOCL and HPCL have players who represented India in the world championship. Few notable stars among them are Sandeep Karmarkar, Marianne Karmarkar, Suresh Babu, Uday Bedekar, Smitha Gorlikar, Kaushik Vyas, B Mehta and Amitra Roy.
