Udupi: Nursing student from Manipal killed in accident at Brahmavar

Udupi, Mar 20: In an accident which happened near a petrol bunk located adjacent to Akashvani relaying centre at Brahmavar in the district on Sunday March 18, a nursing student lost her life. The victim has been identified as Jismi (21), a native of Kerala, who was pursuing nursing studies in Manipal.

Jismi was moving towards Kundapur along with her classmate, Benita, in a scooty, when a container truck hit the two-wheeler from behind. Both the students fell down from their vehicle on the divider of the road. Both the girls suffered serious injuries in the accident. They were taken to a private hospital at Brahmavar after which they were admitted into a private hospital at Manipal.

Jismi breathed her last without responding to treatment, on Monday, March 19. The injuries suffered by Benita are also of serious nature.

A case about the accident was registered in Brahmavar police station.

    Very sad indeed that a nursing student, Jismi from Manipal was killed and her classmate Benita was seriously injured in a two-wheeler scooter accident which was hit by a reckless container truck driver. My her soul RIP and wish Benita will recover from her injuries.
