Kundapur, Feb 23: One person was killed and another injured after an unknown vehicle hit them at Maravanthe. The incident took place in the wee hours on Friday, February 23.

The pedestrian identified as Navunda resident Prabhaker (30) died on the spot. Another pedestrian Heranjalu Suresh, who was seriously injured in the accident, was admitted to Kundapur private hospital.

Both of them were employed at a private hotel in Kundapur. They used to go home by different vehicles at night after their work. They had got down from the bus at Maravante at about 2 am on Friday and were walking. Meanwhile a speeding vehicle hit them. The driver of the vehicle which hit them, fled without coming to their rescue.

Those who came for morning walk saw the two injured men on the road and took them to hospital. However, Prabhaker had died on the spot. Suresh is currently undergoing treatment.
