Mangaluru: Undertrials torture bank manager inside prison, extort Rs 15 lac

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 23: It is learnt that some undertrials lodged in the district prison here inflicted physical and mental torture on another person lodged in the same prison and succeeded in extorting Rs 15 lac from his parents.

The person who had to cough up Rs 15 lac in this way happens to be Sirin Madhusudan. It is said that eight prisoners including Tilak, Mithun, Shivu, Nikhil, Raju and Charan were involved in this crime.

Sirin Madhusudan, who was the manager of Kulai branch of Indian Overseas Bank here, is in judicial custody relating to illegal diversion of Rs 55 crore belonging to Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd (KRIDL). It is said that Tilak belonging to Kodikere gang and some others were lodged in the same cell in which Madhusudan has been accommodated.

They demanded money from Madhusudan but he refused. Reportedly they attacked him physically and continued to physically assault him, demanding share in the money Sirin had presumably siphoned off from the account of KRIDL. Through frequent ragging, they forced Sirin to call his parents from inside the prison by using a mobile phone, asking them to bring money. The parents, under threat, succumbed under pressure and remitted Rs 15 lac in three installments, it is learnt.

Parents of Sirin Madhusudan have filed a complaint in Barke police station in connection with this extortion.

I blame the Jail authorities for mismanagement inside in the prison.

Why they are allowing Cell Phones to the prisoners.

As one commentator points out I quote:

I don't get cell phone connectivity inside my house because of the phone signal jammer installed in the jail; But there is connectivity inside the jail!
That prison has to be shifted. Unquote.

With the cell phone Jammer all outsiders are unable to receive and make calls from outside of the Jail premesses And the inmates from inside the prison can talk in cell phones where ever they wanted.

IS THIS CELL PHONE JAMMER FIXED TO TROUBLE US THE CITIZENS???!!!

    DEAR POLICE COMMISSIONER,

EITHER SHIFT THE JAIL OR CONTROL YOUR OWN JAIL AUTHORITIES.

FOR THE LAPSE OF JAL AUTHORITIES WHY THE CITIZENS HAVE TO SUFFER FOR NO CONNECTIVITY DUE TO CELL PHONE JAMMER???!!!

CATCH THE PRISON'S ADMINISTRATION AUTHORITIES AND TEACH THEM LESSONS.

Mangaluru Jail is managed by the inmates and not by jail authorities.

It is better to officially take out jail authorities and give the management to some notorious inmates, as they are anyway having the control. Otherwise one day we will see jail personnel being killed inside the jail. They are already being beaten severely.

In Parappana Agrahara also story is not different as we have heard from DIG Roopa.
