Save Yamuna: Delhi government plans Rs 44 cr sewage line

New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS): With an aim to save Yamuna and provide relief to residents of Burari area of north Delhi, the Delhi government plans to lay a Rs 44 crore sewage line, it was announced on Saturday.

The stone laying for the project will be done on Sunday evening by the Delhi Jal Board's Vice Chairman Dinesh Mohaniya and local legislator Sanjeev Jha.

The project will benefit people living in Burari as there is no proper system in place in many colonies of the area and sewage directly flows into Yamuna.

The 75 km long sewage line will lead to a treatment plan in Burari and it is expected to be completed in 30 months.
