Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Sep 15: A passenger who was caught at Mangaluru International Airport here on Friday September 15 for trying to smuggle ganja to a Gulf country, managed to run away from the airport.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Haneef, was about to board the IX 821 flight to Doha from here, when he was caught by the customs officials.

Haneef is a native of Kozhikode, Kerala. The customs officials grew suspicious of Haneef and subjected him to a thorough inspection, during which, he was caught carrying ganja.

The officials seized 4.5 kg of ganja from the accused. But within minutes of catching him, Haneef managed to flee from the airport. Customs officials failed to give any explanation on the above.

Earlier it was reported that Haneef was arrested.

A case stands registered at Bajpe police station. It is said that a search operation has begun to locate Haneef.

For sure there is an inside connection who helped him flee. His name itself reflects the network, and why he chose Mangalore Airport.

It is impossible for an accused caught red handed inside airport premises, with high security zone, to escape without the help of insiders! Chief of security should be made accountable for this lapse!!

    What a shame!!!

It is so difficult for us to go out even if we have to return some excesss luggage.
Only airline staff can help. How this guy went after he was caught?

CCTV cameras useless. Only for 'POTTU' thieves.

Mr.Jossey why you are blaming India, you too supporting the Custom Officer who are responsible for his escape.

If you have to Blame then
    First comes Custom Authorities,
    Second Airport Securities
    finally Karnataka State Government.

On what logic you comment, please kindly justify to Daiji readers, otherwise, readers will blame Daiji news.
