Mangaluru, Sep 3: Acting on a serious complaint regarding worm-infested eggs, a team of health department officials raided a Blinkit online delivery store located in the Falnir Square building on Thursday night.

The raid was conducted after a consumer directly complained to health minister U T Khader, alleging that worms were found in the eggs purchased through the Blinkit online platform.

During the inspection at the Falnir facility, the health department officials discovered packets containing broken eggs. They immediately instructed the staff to clear and dispose of them.

In order to ensure the complete cleaning and sanitation of the food storage area, the officials temporarily closed and sealed the store's storage room. Furthermore, a notice has been issued to the company management, directing them to provide a proper explanation regarding the hygiene and quality lapse.
