Bengaluru, May 27: A 13-year-old boy from here sent explicit video of his parents having intimate moments to a Facebook friend, who in turn blackmailed his parents to pay Rs 1 crore ransom.
A case stands registered at Cyber Crime Police Station regarding the issue. The father of the boy, a 44 years old private firm employee, a resident of Herohalli-Andhrahalli Main Road, is the complainant.
As per details of the crime, the boy was using his mobile phone for browsing purposes. He created a Facebook account and accepted a friend request from ‘Tejal Patel’ in June 2016. After that they regularly kept in touch with each other through facebook messages. During this time, Tejal Patel regularly sent indecent videos including that of child pornography to the boy. Then Tejas asked the boy first to send his nude photos and the boy obliged.
On a later day, Tejal told the boy to send explicit photos and videos of his parents and family members. The boy managed to capture the video and photos of his parents spending intimate moments and sent them to Tejal.
Tejal started harassing the boy after that and demanded Rs 1 crore from the family. He threatened that he would upload the video in porn sites if the demand is not met.
The boy realised the gravity of the problem and confided with his father. The father complained to the police immediately.
Police are trying to track the culprit with the help of IP address. “My son’s addiction to Facebook and his habit of accepting friend request from anybody and chatting with them has landed my family in trouble.” said the father in his complaint.
