M'luru: Show love towards mother nature, says bishop Chakkalakal at NYC

Mangaluru, Jan 20: “Love nature, organize stage shows and pray for nature and instruct the family and the young generation on the need to love nature,” stressed Bishop Varghese Chakkalakal, Bishop of Calicut diocese speaking on encyclical Laudato Si to NYC delegates.

In his session ‘Promotion of Laudato Si’ (praise be to YOU), Bishop Varghese, delivered a few remarkable points on various aspects concerning climate change, population control, importance of access to safe drinking water and gender differences.

Prior to this, a panel discussion on 'ICYM and Me-Witness and Achievement’ was held. Jose Jacob, Aparna Babu, Mr Prakash Lobo, Mr Murphy John were the panelist and Fr Joel Dcunha, the first National President moderated the discussion. The panelists shared their experiences on how ICYM moulded thier life and their achievements.

NYC delegates had a unique experience and opportunity to take part in Holy Eucharist which was celebrated in Syro Malankara Rite. His Eminence Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, President CBCI presided over the Holy Eucharist.

A Region Wise Discussion on Evaluation of Last 3 years & Action Plan 2020 was conducted by Fr Charles Menezes, International Chaplian at IYCS JECI.
