Mangaluru : Wilfy Rebimbus' instrumental music album hits the stalls

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 12: In Konkani there are not many instrumental albums, but there are a huge number of fans who want to listen to instrumental albums in quiet. Though the greatest Konkani composer, the late Wilfy Rebimbus, brought out 46 musical albums, there are only two instrumental albums to his credit. The first one was brought out during his lifetime, and was a big hit. The second instrumental music album was released in Sharjah during the Wilfy Nite by Walter Nandalike in the event organised by SMMKC Sharjah, providing another treat for Konkani music lovers.

"Dad always dreamed of bringing out more instrumental albums, but it was not possible during his lifetime. Now we are trying to fulfill his dreams one by one, thanks to the tremendous support and love from Konkani music lovers all around the globe," says Veena Pais nee Rebimbus, daughter of the late legend.

The second instrumental album includes some selected melodious numbers which are soothing to the ears, mind and soul. Some of the evergreen numbers like 'Mahima Devachim', 'Margarita', 'Mujem Kaliz Mogar Podla', 'Raath Zalya Raath', 'Dev Asa' and many more will make one want to listen to the album again and again.

This CD is a collection of some of the melodious songs from WIlfy's released albums, devoid of vocals.

Wilfy's lyrics are heart-touching and every song has a message. He has touched every aspect of life, every topic one can think of can be found in his songs. Many of his songs have narrated stories, some influenced by reality. Along with this, his tunes are also heart-touching and pleasing to the ears of any age group.

The Rebimbus family has dedicated this album to Michael D'Souza for his unconditional support to Konkani language, art, and community.

The CD is available at the usual outlets in Mangaluru.
