    Dubai, Nov 2: Kannadigas all over the world celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with great pomp and happiness on November 1.

    So did the Karnataka Sangha Dubai, winner of prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Awards in the year 2005, celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava at Indian Consulate Auditorium here.

    The 51st Karnataka Rajyotsava celebration was colourful with the presence of popular and leading multi-lingual South Indian cine star Ramesh Arvind as a chief guest.

    The auditorium was jam-packed with enthusiastic Kannadigas. They were enthralled by a very colourful and variety of songs, dances, Yakshagana, instrumental music, kavya, mimicry, hilarious skit and drama.

    The UAE-level ‘Kannada Kandha’ photo contest for the age group of 3 months to 3-years toddlers held in connection with the Rajyotsava celebration received good response. Attractive prizes were presented to the winners.

    Chief guest Ramesh Arvind and his wife Archana were honoured by the dignitaries. The presence of their children made it a family celebration.

    C R Shetty, president of the Sangha welcomed the gathering and introduced the main committee members. Krishnaraj, general secretary, presented the report. Girish Shetty, vice-president introduced the chief guest.

    Lathif, advisor of Sangha, patron Dr Yousuf, main sponsorer Ravi of Kushi developers, Shashi Shetty and Poornima Sheety of Ramee International Group of Hotels, James Mendonca and Prabhakar Ambala were present on the dais.

    All the supporting sponsoring companies, hotels, firms, organizations, representatives, media persons, guest artist Ganesh Rai were recognized and presented with mementoes.

    Anusha Uday, winner of Boogie Woogie international-level dance competition, under held at London was also honoured.

    Ranjani Suresh and Aruna S M compered the programme. Jayanth Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

    The three-hour scintillating celebration was a treat to the eyes and to the lovers of define arts and culture and will be remembered by all the Kannadigas for the years to come.
