Thank You : Little Vishal Shetty gets new lease of life...

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, May 26: Vishal Shetty (8), who was supposed to be playing with friends, eating ice creams and having fun like others kids of his age, has been in the hospital fighting for life for last six months. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Thanks to daijiworld readers' timely help, the little boy underwent necessary treatment on time, and according to his father Harish, "Vishal is recovering well, and doctors have given 99% assurance of total recovery."

Vishal's father Harish Shetty (33), who works for a private company, could not bear total expenses for the treatment. Through his friend he approached daijiworld for presenting an appeal before the readers. After careful verification, Daijiworld had carried the request on April 6, 2014.

A total sum of about Rs 5.5 lac received from the readers has helped Vishal to undergo  BMT (bone marrow transplant) at Manipal hospital in Bangalore.

"Though I managed to get some loan from the company I work for and friends, I never thought unknown people would come to the rescue of my son. One important thing I learnt from this incident is, when you badly need help, your own may not be with you, but unknown people come to the rescue as angels. Secondly, I learnt that I must help others when someone is in dire need. I will help those in need in any way I can. This is the lesson I learnt from this," said Harish, his eyes brimming with emotion.

"Moreover, along with sending their contributions, some of them even called me to enquire about Vishal's health, and offered prayers for his speedy recovery. I have never seen such kind of humanity in my life..." he said.

Among the many who helped, members of Konkani community of Our Lady of Arabia Church, Al Ahmadi, Kuwait collected Rs 50,000 for this cause, and prayed specially for Vishal. Henry Castelino, who initiated the collection, thanked daijiworld for giving support to the needy boy in a collective manner.

We at daijiworld, thank our readers for coming forward to help little Vishal without considering barriers of caste, creed or language. Hope this same spirit continues for a long time to come.

We will not be remembered long or make an impact for the food we eat, cloths we wear etc.
We will not make much impact in others life for the technology we adopt.
But for the charity and help to the most needy. God will surely reward them.
