Mangalore: It's lights, camera, action for 'Chaali Polilu' Tulu movie

Mangalore, Mar 9: The muhurat for the new Tulu movie 'Chaali Polilu', produced by Prakash Pandeshwar under the banner Jayakirana Films, was held at Government Primary School, Pandeshwar here on Sunday, March 9.
A formal stage program was also held to mark the occasion. Manohar Prasad, bureau chief of Udayavani inaugurated the event by lighting the auspicious lamp, along with other dignitaries, namely, Prakash Pandeshwar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, renowned music director V Manohar, director and lyricist Sudhakar Bannanje, Chandrahas Rai B, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Tulu actor Devadas Kapikad, director Veerendra Shetty Kavoor and Dr Hansraj Alva.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Manohar Prasad said competition has increased in the field of Tulu cinema, which he said is a good development.
On the latest Tulu movie he said, "The specialty of this movie is that four great and well-known personalities of Tulu theatre are acting in the movie, and also two cameras will be on the sets."
Nalin Kumar Kateel lauded Prakash Pandeshwar and said that he has taken a brave step by entering into a new and adventurous field.
V Manohar said it is a tough job to produce a movie, especially Tulu. "The success of this movie will indeed be profitable to the team as well as boost Tulu cinema," he said.
Other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion and rendered their best wishes to Prakash, director and the whole crew.
Dr Hamsaraj Alva sounded the clap board for the movie.
About 'Chaali Polilu'
The movie has been produced by Prakash Pandeshwar under the banner ‘Jayakirana Films’. Veerendra Shetty Kavoor is the story writer, lyricist and director. Jagannath Shetty Bala is the co-producer. V Manohar is the music director. Cinematography is by Uthpal V Nainar, lyrics are by V Manohar, Vijaykumar Kodialbail, Devadas Kapikad and Veerendra Shetty Kavoor. Madan Harini is the choreographer while Keshava Suvarna B C Road is the art director, and Vinod the stuntman.
Four well-known personalities namely Devdas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Aravind Bolar will be in the lead comedy roles.
Surendra Bantwal is in the male lead while Navya and Divyashri are the lead heroines. Well-known artistes Sundar Rai Mandara, Chethan Rai Mani, Padmaja Rao, Raghavendra Rai, Umanath Kotian, Karnoor Mohan Rai, Lakshman Kumar Mallur, Pradeep Alva Kadri, Shobha Rai, Girish Shetty Permude, Sarojini Shetty, Prasanna Bailoor, Agnel Rodrigues, Rashmika, Vidhyashri, Umesh Mijar, Ravi Surathkal, Somu Jokatte, Thimmappa Kulal, Magesh Bhat, Suresh Kulal, Sujatha, Panduranga Adyar, Karunakar Saripalla and others are too in the movie. Well-known journalists Naresh Kumar Sasihithlu, Vinay Krishna Bhat, Rajesh Shetty Ballabagh will also be seen in special roles.
