Auklnad, Feb 7 : Live cricket scores of second day of first test match between India and New Zealand will begin in few moments

Can India put on a spirited show on Day 2? Join us back tomorrow for all the action.

Ishant was good in the first session but didn't exactly hit the right spots in his later spells. Shami was very unlcuky not to get a wicket even though he went past the bat a number of times. Zaheer bowled well in patches but his speed and fitness wasn't all that great to see. Jadeja didn't do a good job either apart from his spell in the final session. So on the whole, Dhoni has a lot to worry about and his bowlers have to do well tomorrow if they are to take the fight to New Zealand..

Brendon McCullum: 'We would've loved to have won the toss. The first session was certainly challenging. At the end of the day, the position we are in is outstanding. Sets us up nicely for tomorrow. Never felt you were in on this wicket, Kane is so mature for such a young player, he was outstanding and took all pressure off me. 3/30, you can't go out and go all guns blazing, got to suck it up for the team and managed to build a partnership with Kane which in the end made it a pretty good day for us.'

McCullum took his time intially and then started to get going nicely while Williamson was free flowing throughout his knock. The former got to his hundred in style by smashing Jadeja way over long-off and soon after, Williamson too completed his hundred. A little while later, Zaheer broke the 221-run stand as Williamson was unlucky to be caught down the leg side as he got a faint edge through to Dhoni. Anderson then joined McCullum at the crease and the duo have added 78 for the 5th wicket and are looking very solid.

New Zealand have scored 150 runs in 39 overs this session and that tells the story. Having won the toss and opted to field, India owned the morning session by taking three quick wickets but hundreds from Williamson and skipper McCullum swung the momentum back in New Zealand's favour. At 30/3 in the 18th over, India would have fancied their chances to bowl the hosts out today, but they have only themselves to blame. Williamson offered a nick to first slip but Vijay didn't grab it and since then, there was no looking back for New Zealand.
