Mangalore: Attempt to Loot Train Passengers - Five Arrested

Mangalore, Oct 25: The railway police have arrested five persons for attempting to loot passengers at Central railway station here.

The arrested are identified as Mohammed Irfan from Bajpe (18), Mohammed Sadiq from Kavoor (18), Raghu from Kunjathbail (19), Mohammed Feroz from Kavoor (19) and Hamaaz (19).

As per the information received, on October 22 night, the arrested were caught inspecting the bags of passengers of West Coast Express. Police arrested them based on the complaint given by the passengers.

Police while interrogating them came to know that they did not possess any ticket and suspected that they had come to loot the passengers. Hence they took them into custody.

Sources said that later they were released on bail.
