Udupi, Jun 6: "In modern times, youth are lured by science. It is necessary to understand that science and spirituality are two different entities. Spirituality is the greatest, if one understands the existence of God, the rest of the knowledge will follow on its own," said Swami Esha Vittaldas of Kemaru Sandipani Sadhanasharam.
 
Swami Esha Vittaldas was speaking at the release ceremony of the autobiograhical book by NRI and Karnataka Rajyotsava Award recipient Arab Udupi Kalattoor Shekar B Shetty 'From Kalattoor to the Desert of a Gulf Country' and Ramayana-based book 'Bharata - My Brother' authored by Indian Express daily former Mumbai editor-in-chief A K Naik, at Kalattoor Kushala Shekara Shetty International Auditorium, Kaup, here on Sunday June 3.

Vedamurti Harinarayan Asaranna, chief priest of Durgaparameshwari temple, Kateel after releasing both the books, said that the personality of an individual is determined by his or her virtues.
 
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon presided over the programme.
 
Former state minister Vasant V Salian, JD(S) district president Deviprasad Shetty, Kutyar gram panchayat president Nityanand R Shetty, entrepreneurs Ashok Shetty Mumbai and Sanat Kumar Shetty were the chief guests.
 
Kushala Shekara Shetty Charitable Trust scholarship committee secretary Divakar B Shetty, Gundu Babu Shetty Kalattoor were also present.
 
A K Naik, Mumbai and UAE Al Mansoori Group corporate administration manager Rita Vikram Rao were felicitated on the occasion.
 

Distribution of scholarships
 
Kushala Shekara Shetty Charitable Trust, founded by NRIs and Arab Udupi Group of Hotels founder Kalattoor Shekar B Shetty and Kushala Shekar Shetty, distributed scholarship worth Rs 2 lac to 104 needy students of the locality.
 
Shekar B Shetty welcomed the gathering. Lawyer Umesh Shetty delivered the felicitation address. Divakar D Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. Teacher Nirmal Kumar Hegde compered the programme.

    I completely agree with Sachidanand Shetty. I just love "Arab Udupi" food that too Masala Dosa prepared at Bur Dubai branch. That taste I didn't get anywhere. All the best "Arab Udupi"

    Everywhere people used to know Mangalore only. But Kalattoor Shekar Shetty made our City Name famous as “Udupi” too in Gulf City Map by giving the name to his Hotels as “Arab Udupi” Congrats Shekar Shettre, “Inita special daade in Arab Udupide?”
