Mumbai: Karnataka Sangha Chembur Celebrates Annual Day

Mumbai, Feb 7: The annual day celebration of Karnataka Sangh, Chembur, Karnataka High School and Junior College, Chembur, was held at Karnataka High School grounds, Chembur, Patla Village, on Saturday February 4.

Prabhakar B Bolar, president, Karnataka Sangh, Chembur, presided over the programme.

Metro-based Sai Care Logistics Limited managing director Surendra A Poojary was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the new generations of students are fortunate when compared to him as he had to slog during the day doing odd jobs and study in the night high school.  He said that he had to migrate to the metro, in order to support his joint family in the native village. He also advised the students to respect their parents and teachers.

Assistant commissioner of taxes Basavaraj Nalegave was the guest of honour who congratulated the students for participating in cultural programmes and stressed the need for a disciplined life that would secure their better future.

Prabhakar Bolar assured the students that Karnataka Sangh and the schools promoted by them will always support their aspirations to become responsible citizens in the future, by studying and securing better status in society.

Karnataka Sangh Chembur vice-president lawyer H K Sudhakar, honorary chief secretary Vishwanat S Shenava, treasurer Devdas K Shettigar, joint secretary T R Shetty, joint treasurer Sundar N Kotian, managing committee members Ranjan Kumar R Amin, Gunakar H Hegde, Jaya N Shetty, Yogesh V Gujaran, Bhavanishankar Acharya, Rama Poojary, Madhukar G Bailoor, Mohan S Kanchan, Raju B Sanil, Chandrashekar Anchan, Dayasagar Chowta, Jaya M Shetty, and Sudhakar Anchan were present on the occasion.

Cultural programmes were staged by the high school and pre-university college students.

Jayasree Neiyar welcomed the gathering.  Jayalaxmi Holla introduced the guests. Teachers Snehalata Shetty, Sujaya Anchan, Raji Eamesh and Mohini Poojary presented the annual reports.  Saiprasad Pawar, Vasundar Kadam and Shresta Kotian compered the programme. Rishikesh Chavan proposed the vote of thanks.
