Mangaluru: Praveen Nettaru murder case – Police team conferred with award

Mangaluru, Aug 23: Western Range IGP Devajyoti Ray conferred award on the police team which cracked the Praveen Nettaru murder case that occurred on July 26 at Bellare of Sullia.

The case was a challenge to the police as the assailant did not leave any clue at the crime spot. However, the investigation team comprising of Dakshina Kannada district police and western range officials succeeded in arresting the killers.

The felicitation and award programme was held on Monday, August 22 at the Dakshina Kannada district police samudaya bhavan in the city.

In addition, ADGP Alok Kumar also appreciated former DCP law and order of Mangaluru, Hariram Shankar’s contribution in the investigation.

    this is like donkey praising its own.....it is their duty in fact to catch the culprits and i feel they took longer than required and were utterly confused because the intelligence of dk khaki failed i feel...anyway some kind of solace to down level officers who just get crumbs usually...

    Catching the culprits is fine... But political will is necessary to prevent such crimes in future... Much depends on improving our levels of tolerance for diverse beliefs and practices of different religions... At the moment incumbent govt has no mood to diffuse the tensions... All actions, compensations and appreciations have been blatantly one sided.... Killers of other community youth may be released in the same hypocratic manner as in the case of Bilkis Bano... In the name of vehemence and self serving humanity has taken the farthest back seat...
