Bantwal: BJP leader murder – Shops being shut down in Vittal town

Bantwal, Jul 27: Party workers of BJP and the activists of Sangh Parivar are urging to shut down the business establishments in Bantwal and Vittal town, a day after BJP youth cell district executive member Praveen Nettar was murdered.

Few shops are voluntarily shut in Bantwal and Vittal town. There is a mixed response to the bandh. As a precautionary measure, a holiday has been declared for few schools.

Buses and auto rickshaws are plying as usual. Police of Bantwal and Vittal have deployed security forces. In rural areas, the shops are open. But, tight security forces have been deployed in these areas.

Immediately after the incident, the police started thorough checking of vehicles in the Kerala-Karnataka border at Saradka, Kanyana and Salethur check posts.

The police department are checking vehicles entering Karnataka from Kerala and going to Kerala from Karnataka.
