Rain havoc continues in Dakshina Kannada; house, hill collapse, bike buried

Mangaluru/Bantwal: The heavy downpour in the Dakshina Kannada district continued and resulted in hill slides and the collapse of a few houses also.  In Bajjodi of Bikarnakatte, a house belonging to Jerald Lobo and Clody Lobo collapsed due to heavy rain.

The rain water gushed inside the house and the family members are struggling to clear it out. It is said that the MCC officials have arrived to the spot for help.

The deputy commissioner has already declared holiday for schools and colleges following the rain havoc.

Hill collapses in Vittal, traffic disrupted

Due to incessant rains in the area, a hill collapsed near Saradka check post on Vittal-Kasargod road. Traffic was disrupted for long hours. It is suspected that a bike is buried under the mud.

    More of a man made havoc and calamities. Levelling or acquiring land cutting hills and raising residential block or houses without proper retaining walls. half of hills of Mangalore are flattened.

    S.Shetty TulunadI think you didnt understand and would also not understand anything.Because your house is safe.Very sad to see this catastroph.Everything destroyed.Hope he will get some help and build next in a different place .As flavian said man made havoc.?
