Sullia, Jun 27: Two shops suddenly caught fire late night on June 25 at Panja market of the taluk. Good worth lacs of rupees was destroyed in the fire.

Fire erupted in Kukke Sri Hardware, owned by Ramesh Paloli and the cutlery shop adjacent to the hard ware shop, owned by Nutan. It is suspected that electrical short circuit must be reason for the sudden fire.

Locals, who saw the fire in shops, informed the owners and started to put in efforts to put off the fire. Fire service personnel also reached the spot in few minutes. However, both shops were completely burnt.

The fire service personnel were able to contain the fire so that it did not spread to the other shops in the vicinity.

Electrical connections are overlooked even in grand shops worth crores... Also lot of Jugadi self designed short cuts get overheated and catch fire... When they happen in the night when no one is around all one finds in the morning will be little other than ashes and smoke...

Repeatedly, incidents of massive fire attributed to short circuits at different places appears to be a purposeful act to claim insurance as many MSMEs are on the verge of closure after taking triple hit of demo, unplanned GST, unplanned Covid lockdown!!

It's not electrical cables alone but very low voltage supply during high demand and while reinstating sudden high voltage. All your equipments will spoil and nobody is bothered.
