Mangaluru, June 5: An electric scooter belonging to one Jayaram which was put on charge caught fire and was burnt to ashes at his house in LIG 77, KHB Colony in Bondel here on Sunday, June 5.
The electric scooter belonging to the Komaki company was reduced to ashes.
Fortunately, none was injured in the incident.
According to neighbours, they heard the sound of the blast and when they rushed to the spot, they witnessed a burning scooter. Immediately, they brought other vehicles outside the compound to avert further tragedy.
According to the owner of the electric scooter, he had purchased the scooter a few months ago, and as usual, he had put the scooter for charging. The incident came to light when they heard a big blast. As the fire was intensive, family members could not come out immediately.
Later, the locals who gathered on the spot doused the fire. Fire and Emergency Services officials also rushed to the spot.
