Mangaluru: No Covid restrictions – Weddings, religious functions galore in twin districts

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, May 29: The Covid restrictions in the past two years had prevented celebration of auspicious occasions like marriages, anniversaries and other religious functions in the twin districts. However, this year people are celebrating the occasions in a grand manner.

The months of April and May are the busiest in the whole year for catering and pandal businesses as the demand will be very high.

Even a marriage anniversary is celebrated on par with a wedding event. Apart from family and relatives, the colleagues and local residents are also being invited to celebrate. DJ music and fashionable lightings are increasing the glitter of the events.

Religious functions like Brahma Kalashostava, Naga Darshana, Naga Mandala, Kola of family Daivas and Thambila are being celebrated with devotion and festive mood.

Increased demand has brought smiles on the faces of Patris, who serve Daivas of Tulunadu, band and trumpet teams, catering, orchestra and Shamiana business owners.

Newly married couples could not go outstation during Covid. But now the bookings of outstation tours have increased as per the information provided by a private tours and travel agency.

There will be a severe food shortage in the offing because of Russia Ukraine conflict, countries banning food exports, supply chain disruptions, crop damage due to climate change etc. In view of that people should not be extravagant as a lots of food goes waste in these functions; a time may come even inspite of having money food will be in short supply! America is facing an acute shortage of infant formula for the past month, desperately trying to import from other countries!

Dangerous trend to let our guard down, all the gains we have achieved so far will go down the drain, covid is still around and waiting to strike back with vengeance and it is just question of time, hence we have to maintain social distancing along with masking and not to forget vaccination. A little comfort and pleasure sacrifice now will go a long way in controlling covid.

In one single day I have attended a Birthday Party, Wedding ceremony and death Anniversary .. It probably sums up our lives .. Be positive, lead a righteous and simple life with high level of thoughts ..treat your job and position as an opportunity to help and serve others. Ultimately, that is all that matters when you are alive.

Now the ministers and officers are busy with same types of functions in their relations and friends circles. . And busy with the RS and MLC elections. When they are free from all this, our health cum Astrologer minister will start all those restrictions.
