Kadaba: Medical negligence at community health centre, patient suffers infection

Kadaba, May 6: Due to sheer negligence of medical personnel of community health centre hospital of the taluk, the wound of an accident victim aggravated and he had to be hospitalized and surgery was conducted on him in another hospital.

The wound had 14 stones inside it and the nurses and other assisting personnel had put the stitch at Kadaba community hospital without cleaning the wound.

Purushothama, a railway employee and resident of Kalpure in Kodimbala village, was going on his scooter along with his wife to a relative’s house on the night of April 25. At Undila near Kodimbala, the scooter skidded and both husband and wife fell on the road. They were immediately taken to Kadaba community hospital by locals. The doctor at the hospital advised to put stitches to the wound. The nurse and assistants stitched to the wound. The very locals who took them to the hospital, brought them back home.

Even after a week, Purushothama’s wound did not show any signs of healing. In fact, the wound got exacerbated. On May 4, Purushothama got the X-Ray of the wound taken at a private clinic at Kadaba and showed to the specialist doctor. He immediately advised him to get admitted to the hospital. Accordingly, Purushothama got admitted to a private hospital at Nellyadi.

Purushothama was operated upon on the night of May 4 at the private hospital. The doctors were shocked to see that 14 small stones that were inside the wound. Because of the negligence of medical staff at Kadaba community centre, injured Purushothama had to undergo surgery. If the wound was cleaned well before putting stitches, it would have healed and there was no need for the surgery.

    Jossey S water front ,yes you are right .Normally doctor has to attend the wound ,clean and put stitches if needed .Wound should be disinfected ,If necessary give anti tetanus ,or antibiotics.Important is to clean the wound Properly.No wonder it got infected with sand or mud inside.Negligence.

    Please read the article properly before passing dumb comments. The DOCTOR did not attend to the patient himself. The nurses negligence resulted in this problem... Where does CORONA doctors figure in this!!!!
