Mumbai, Feb 13: Karnataka Sangh of suburban Goregaon organized Vicharabharati Sammelan, an interactive meet on current trends in the country at Bajaj auditorium, Malad here on Sunday February 13.
MDRT R K Shetty inaugurated the Sammelan here on Sunday morning. Kannadiga journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu presided over the programme.
R K Shetty in his inaugural address said that although India is economical stronger nation in the world, the rampant corruption in governance is eroding the social accountability of elected members.
Dinesh Amin Mattu in his keynote address said that the democratic values are degenerating in the country due to constant changes in governance. It’s due to the commercialization of the judiciary and media, the country is pushed to turmoil, said Dinesh.
‘It’s a tragedy that even after six decades of Independence, greater portion of Indian population is deprived of most essential amenities, said Dinesh.
Goregaon Karnataka Sangh president G T Acharya released ‘Mumbelaku’ special edition at the same occasion. The Sangh former presidents S M Shetty and Surendrakumar Salian were present at the dais.
The seminars on eco-environment, science, education, information on current political trends were held at the occasion.Variety entertain programmes were staged by Kannadiga – Tulu associations.
Seema Kulkarni and Vasanti Kotian rendered the prayer song. Veda M Suvarna compered the programme.
