Fresh Covid cases decline to 31,198 in Karnataka, positivity rate at 20.91 percent

Bengaluru, Jan 28: Karnataka on Friday, January 28 registered 31,198 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 2,88,767. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 15,199.

As many as 50 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Friday, the death toll in the state has risen to 38,804.

The state recorded 71,092 discharges from hospitals on Friday, taking the total discharges to 33,96,093.

So far, Karnataka has seen 37,23,694 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 22.91% while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.16 %.

As many as 9,47,23,338 people have received vaccination so far.
