Glad to see the new age entrepreneurs getting into manufacturing businesses in Coastal Karnataka. I had a wish to set up home/personal care manufacturing set up in Mangalore , but out of circumstances had to do it outside the State. Best wishes for your enterprise.

I fully endorse and support the Hindcare India enterprise and express my sincere wish for the success of the business. Your comment seems to throw a bad light on the big firms that have dominated the Indian market and their parent companies, the world market. It gives a wrong impression that the firms you mention are foreign firms fleecing Indians and transferring profits to the parent company. I do not know anything about Colgate and Proctor and Gamble; they had their offices and did business in the products being manufactured by Hindocare, but I can speak about Unilever with which company I was asdociated with for thirteen of my youthful years, ten in Bombay and 3 in London. When I joined the company in Bombay, as a lowly clerk, it was a subsidiary and was called Lever Brothers (India) Ltd. with HQ in Bombay and branches in Calcutta and other cities. It manufactured both soap, toothpaste, etc. and vanaspati (marketed under the name DALDA). All the materials were secured from Indian suppliers be in wrapping materials, packing materials, timber and shooks for packaging, laboratory goods, etc. etc. and its buyers went all over south India to buy groundnuts for making Dalda. Thus it benefited many Indian merchants and factories and sawmills, etc. The company over the last seventy years (sixtytwo years after I quit) has employed tens of thousands of Indians to operate, to manage, from the top to the bottom, creating employment for Indians. It is now a fully owned Indian company. When I was still employed, it was fully Indianized, its shares were floated on the Bombay Stock Exchange (even I bought a few, which I sold later), and there are no more foreign managers and directors. They are all Indians and the company is fully Indian. I wish Hindocare every success and I hope they capture a bigger share of the market to boost competition. Good luck to you, the Farias couple - my daijis.

Congratulations, and all the best for your success in the world dominating conglomerates such as Unilever and Proctor and Gamble, and their Indian subsidiaries Hindustan Lever and Colgate Palmolive. May be when you begin to show success there will be offers of buy-out. I am a former employee of Hindustan Lever Bombay 1950-60 and Unilever in London [1960-63].
