New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members were Friday suspended from the Delhi assembly for three days after again being marshalled out for disrupting the house proceedings over their demand for an assembly panel probe into the alleged irregularities in the Commonwealth Games.

It was the third consecutive day that the opposition members were evicted from the house.

As soon as the assembly met for the day, Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Malhotra accused the Congress of covering up the irregularities in the Games and said that was why the ruling party was not agreeing to the demand of a house committee probe.

Malhotra also criticised Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for attacking Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna in the assembly Thursday, saying it was the Congress-led central government which appointed him as chief administrator of the national capital.

"What does she want to show by attacking a person who was appointed by her own party?" Malhotra asked.

The assembly soon witnessed ruckus with opposition members marching towards the speaker's podium while raising their demand for a house panel to probe the alleged Commonwealth Games corruption. Speaker Yoganand Shastri then adjourned the house - first for 10 minutes and then again for 20 minutes.

When the assembly reconvened, the BJP members again began their protest. Then, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely proposed the suspension of the opposition members for three days, to which the speaker agreed.

With the eviction of the BJP members, the private members bills that were to be taken as per schedule could not be discussed as these were put forward by the opposition members only.

Shastri said the disruption of the house was unfortunate as each day's meeting cost the exchequer about Rs. 1.5 lakh.
