Mangaluru: Transgender person arrested for waylaying, robbing gold chain from lone bike rider

Mangaluru, Nov 29: A transgender person was arrested on charges of waylaying and robbing gold chain from a bike rider.

The arrested person is identified as Abhishek alias Gombe alias Anamika (27), from Mysuru living currently in Bengaluru.

The accused had waylaid Ganesh Shetty who was on his bike near BSNL exchange, beside national highway at Nanthoor. The accused sprayed pepper spray on Shetty’s face and snatched a gold chain weighing 24 grams that was wearing around his neck.

Kadri police arrested the accused and recovered 71 grams gold and three other gold chains from him.

    Ganesh must have failed to ensure that he was a transgender, got attracted thinking he was she and halted the bike. Else, would have escaped from side lanes or by pass. Thanks to police having caught her and recovered stolen ornaments. Bikers exercise care after watching such incident.

    We are blaming here to Transgenders...But imagine their situation..Society or our Govt don't take them seriously..nobdy provides them employment. What they can do other than beg or rob for their livelihood? We need to treat them as human beings in the first sense.

    Getting workers domestic and also for cultivation and many other sectors is very difficult now. few are working they demand more money and they change houses and farms when the owner badly need them. Even in offices workers required. These transgender lazy to work. Robbing and begging is the top most income sector in India. Taking Transgender as the reason they occupied this large sector. If they work sincerely and honestly there will be more demand for these people. But they are not working. They choose robbery and begging.. In mangala express train difficult to travel. These transgenders enter the sleeper coach remove their dresses touch the body and face of the passengers sometimes tear the clothes and things from the passengers. I experienced this. While I travelling they tore news paper from my hand.

    Transgender’s begging near toll gate are real trouble for people . In the past they use to pluck the money from young boys who travel alone with unsolicited touch and molestation. They are surely conjured with Police and fleece gullible people. Now recently the fast tag is a hinderance for them because motorist don’t have to lower windows.

    These so called transgender must be all beaten up whereever they are found And specially at the Hejmadi Toll Gate, as they often think they are above the law. The police authorities do nothing to arrest them or to discipline them against demanding money from the public.

    Please don't assault them. None employs them. They have been thrown out by their nearest family. They need public support. They should be given free education. They should be absorbed in Service sector. But waylaying, robbing must be sternly dealt with, like Mr.Ganesh Shetty did.

    The Transgender gentleman Mr.Abhishek alias Gombe alias Anamika should be forgiven and allowed to keep the gold chain because the Transgender person did not had the chain and needed it to survive and Mr. Ganesh Shetty had enough wealth to survive and it is foolish for a gentleman Shetty to exhibit wealth while fellow brothers are hungry & suffering.

    Krishna Dasa Udipi,you need not have pity with them.If one wants to work ,there is .But they dont.They earn more than enough by such begging .Why dont they work in hospitals as attenders or staff during htese days?What he has done do you find good ?Spray someone and rob the chain?
